Hello everyone,
So by reading the post name you all know today's review is about an eyebrow Pencil from Lakme. I never ever in my life have tweezed,waxed or threaded my eyebrows. I love them just the way they are naturally. Infact I followed my mom in this thing of not to opt for eyebrows getting done because she never tried to do her eyebrows till now. We are blessed with even and medium to thick eyebrows so we just enhance it using eyebrow pencil or kit. This pencil is always in my kitty so am going to review it today.
Price of Product: Rs70/-
Availability: Beauty shops or Buy it here
Shelf life: 3years (nothing mentioned on product but this is general time for any eye product)
Product Description: Lakme eyebrow pencil is a product to keep your eyebrows groomed and maintain where you don't need to go to Salon after 2-3 week and get your brows done. This pencil comes handy in such cases where you can easily groom them at home for that neat and perfect look with this.
Ingredients: key ingredients not mentioned.
My Experience: It comes in a small pencil form (smaller than lip,eye liner pencil) which is sharpenable and name printed on it in a golden italic font. It has shiney beige colored cap on it to keep the pencil secure. Packaging is good but I wish that pencil would have come up with retractable form cause sharpening it leads to wastage of product also you need to carry a separate sharpener with it.
So this pencil is use to fill in the gaps and shape your eyebrows as per your requirement. I don't do my eyebrows as I told earlier and I always keep this pencil in my bag to use it whenever I feel like.
The texture of its is not too waxy or creamy and not too harsh that you have to scratch your brows. Its perfect in between which is good because if it is too much creamy you will end up doing raccon brows by obviously over do it and if it is too harsh then you will literally have to scratch your delicate brow area and still you will not be able to fill them correctly. Pigmentation is very good that in my opinion you use it only once and in one time stroke you will get your brows filled in. Of course you can always build up with 2-3 strokes if you want to try a particular shape or something.
Before using I manage my brow hair using eyebrow brush to keep it in a place so that I can easily decide where I actually have to use this pencil. Then I slowly start giving stroke with a very light hand from the inner side of brow area and then fill in the sparse continuing to the arch finally. I some times extend my natural arch or some time just keep it that way. Middle part of your brows till the arch is having thicker hair compare to inner or starting area of your brows. So always use your pencil acordingly otherwise you will end up looking made up and unflattering. After filling in complete eyebrow I just take an eyebrow brush or a spoolie and brush it all over. This will ensure to spread the product evenly and will also remove any extra layer of product which gives perfect natural look and all the lines or strokes we used to fill in will blend nicely.
A quick tip: I always suggest you to hold your pencil at the end of it. This way you will have lesser pressure on it and you will get very light and natural stroke instead of applying it with a pressure dark strokes.
It is water ressistant and will not smudge after you apply it. Also only water will not work to remove it so use a makeup remover or facewash to remove it. Once applied it stays in its place without leaving waxy kind of texture and will not melt down.
Below in first picture is my natural bare eyebrow and second picture using Lakme eyebrow pencil. See how much difference it makes.
Pro's:
* Smudge free
* Water ressisant
* Gives natural look
* Pigmented enough to cover your arches well
* Great at this price
Con's:
* Needs sharpening for every use
* I wish more shades were available other than black
Overall Verdict: Lakme eyebrow pencil is really good product for keeping your brows well groomed and I suggest you to include in your daily essential list.
